“A.I Did It”
I really do wonder how far AI will go and how much we (as humans) will rely on it. I saw two ads today; both having to deal with AI but they stood out to me. The first one was an AI tool that gives you answers to online interview questions in real time. This is interesting because #1 what if you aren't really qualified for a specific job but you end up getting it due to the program's strengths. Possibly taking a job from someone who is truly qualified but lacked the words to pull the job. #2 By using this tool you don't have to use your mind. You don’t have to think critically nor truly you just read whatever this tool says and repeat it to your interviewer. The second ad that I saw was a tool that allows you to type an idea into it and it gives you an entire chapter or chapters based on what you wrote. It's for authors, so it promotes writing a book for you. basically. This one is interesting because as I just said you really don’t have to use your brain to work out the “block” that you are having. You only have to think of the idea and the rest is handed to you. Reason #2 is what this does to the arts.
Does this mean the creator doesn’t really have to put their all into a project? And this is general speaking across all art forms because I'm sure there is an AI tool for each category. I am a believer of art being an extension of yourself. And that the best pieces of work come from those who really dug deep within themselves to get the finished product. So do all of these tools just promote laziness? Because that would damage art. Now, I get the benefits of AI, but will people eventually take away the power of their own thoughts and just hand their every issue over to an AI system (art or not) with the belief that it will make everything “better”?
